How to Grow Your Hair 1 Inch Overnight!

Over the Thanksgiving weekend I was watching some hair videos on YouTube and I came across several YouTubers who claimed that their hair grew an inch overnight. Each one did the same process and it appeared that it actually worked out for them. Thinking about the major trim that I plan on giving myself in the upcoming New Year, I thought I would try their method out on my own hair to see if it would work. If you’re interested in learning how to grow your hair an inch overnight and whether or not it actually worked for me, keep reading! Continue reading

My Miscarriage Story Pt. 2

Since this month is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month I’ve decided to share my miscarriage story. Last week I wrote about the two miscarriages that I had last year and how they had impacted my life. This week I want to share YouTube videos that I posted during those periods of loss. In the videos I talk about the raw feelings associated with losing a baby as well as how it feels to have your first period afterwards. That first menstrual period after miscarrying was probably one of the hardest things to go through apart from actually miscarrying because it solidified that my baby was no longer inside of me and I had to really face that reality. I hope that by me sharing these videos someone can be encouraged that they’re not alone in what they have gone through or may be going through right now. Continue reading

My Miscarriage Story

Since this month is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month I decided to share my miscarriage story. It’s something that I’m very open about because when I got pregnant I was not aware of how common miscarriages are. I was afraid that maybe something was wrong with me or that I couldn’t have kids, but the truth is that approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Continue reading

I Wasted A Year and a Half of My Life

Tuesday September 20th as I sat talking to my husband, I realized that I had wasted a year and a half of my life…………………………………………………………………………………………

…………………..on fear.

I had wasted a year and a half of my life being afraid of what he would say, what he would do, how he would respond, and if he would leave: “Was he trying to control me?” I feared. “If I make a huge mistake will he forgive me?” I asked myself.  “Can I really tell him what I’m thinking and how I feel?” I thought to myself.  My fears had consumed my life and had threatened to consume my marriage. Straight Talk Thursdays – God I’m Not Good Enough

Have you ever felt like you were not good enough for the purpose that God has called you for? Ever felt like your past or present state has somehow disqualified you from what God has told you to do? In this Straight Talk Thurs video I want to encourage you that you are not too inadequate for the purpose that God has called you for no matter where you have been or what you have done. It took me three years to start this blog because I felt the exact same way. God also showed me that there were other people in the bible who also felt like they weren’t good enough and we can all learn from their story what God thinks about that.  I hope this video encourages you.

Straight Talk Thursdays – A Plea To The Seasoned Married Women

In this video I talk about my desire for more guidance and transparency from the older/seasoned married women being a newlywed myself. Titus 2:1-5 tells the older married women to teach and be an example to the younger married women and this is my plea because that guidance is really needed. Simply put, we need you.

Titus 2:1, 3-5 – But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Straight Talk Thursdays – A Message To My Single Self

Welcome to another Straight Talk Thursday video!! In this video I talk about 6 things I wish I would have taken to heart while I was single before getting married. When I was single I was so focused on my desire to be married that I didn’t fully allow myself to enjoy or be content in my singleness. If I could go back in time and give myself a talk, these are the things I would say to me. Enjoy!

Straight Talk Thursdays – Mental Illness In The Church

I have started a YouTube series called Straight Talk Thursdays where I will be discussing various topics that I have on my heart or that the Lord places on my heart to speak about. In today’s video, which was posted on YouTube April 7th, I talk about how mental illness is commonly looked at within the church, my personal struggle with anxiety and depression, and how God used medication as a tool in my deliverance. I also make a reference in my video to an article written about Tasha Cobbs where she talks about her personal struggle with depression and how the church needs to open up more about this particular issue.

God, You Owe Me Something.

Have you ever felt like God owed you something for doing the right thing, or living the right way? I know I can’t be the only one who has felt this way before.  Today I want to write about a personal experience that I’ve had about how sometimes as Christians, if we’re not careful, we can begin to feel like we deserve certain things or that God owes us certain things for “good behavior.”

Now, this may not be the case with everyone, but that was the case with me and boy did God slap me with his word to get me together. The area I struggled with was marriage. I felt like I deserved a good husband and that I deserved to be married and not have to wait because I had stayed a virgin. Continue reading
